My path to becoming a dentist in Bakersfield started on the other side of the chair

I didn’t take the most traditional path into dentistry. Before I ever became a dentist, I worked as a Registered Dental Assistant. I was right there in the operatory, learning how a dental office works, helping patients through appointments, and seeing firsthand how much the way we communicate can shape someone’s experience.

From there, I completed my degree in Biology and eventually earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Over the past six years, I’ve continued building on that foundation through additional training, including an Invisalign certificate and the AAID Implant MaxiCourse.

But what has stuck with me most from those early years is pretty simple: patients deserve to understand their care.

That philosophy is a big part of why Everwell Dental exists. I want you to know what I’m seeing, why I’m recommending something, and what your options are before we make any decisions together. I’m not interested in pushing treatment just because we can do it. My goal is to help you take care of your teeth in a way that makes sense for your health, your priorities, and your life.

One of my favorite things about Everwell Dental is the team I get to work with every day. Darlene, Julissa, Joyce, and Jordyn all bring something different to the practice, but we share the same goal: we want you to feel comfortable, listened to, and genuinely cared for.

We’re a smaller practice, and I think there’s something really valuable about that. You get to know us, and we get to know you. You’re not starting from scratch with a new face every time you come in.

We also pay attention to the little things. Grab a coffee or some water when you arrive. Ask us for a blanket if you’re cold. Fill out your paperwork ahead of time if you’d rather skip the clipboard. And if you have questions, ask them. We would much rather spend an extra few minutes talking something through than have you leave unsure about your care.
